Message From Our President
Fencing has a long history at WVU, with our team dating back over 50 years. We keep that tradition alive, offering students and members of the community a great opportunity for fitness, competition, and fun in this classic sport. Those without fencing experience are welcome to take part in our beginners’ class, offered every semester. If you’ve fenced before, feel free to stop by our advanced practice, held every Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm in the Stansbury Hall basement. Fencing club members will have the opportunity to travel to the various tournaments we regularly compete in across the region, as well as participate in the tournaments we host right here in Morgantown, attracting fencers from across West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and elsewhere. And of course, like all WVU club sports, our team takes pride in giving back to the community through our service activities. In recent years we have assisted in trail maintenance at Coopers Rock State Forest, volunteered at charity fundraisers, and demonstrated our sport to local children, among other activities.
Feel free to contact me by email with any questions you may have about our club or fencing in general at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope to see you soon at one of our practices or tournaments!
President, WVU Fencing Club
